For the past few years now, we’ve had a little garden in the back yard of our Suburban home. Normally we would buy the pre-started plants from the nursery, but this year we decided to plant from Seeds. I’ll use this blog to keep a journal of the experience.

We live in the suburbs of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where the Plant Hardiness Zone is a 5B. We typically transplant our store bought vegetables late may, early June and hope for the best.

This year we purchased seeds from the Veseys catalogue. We’ll be starting them indoors, and with any luck, moving them outside late spring. We have no connection to Veseys, in fact this is the first time we have purchased from them. My thinking was how can you go wrong with a company established in 1939, located in Prince Edward Island, and has featured Chef Michael Smith on one of their catalogues.
